July 15-16, 2004: New Wine International – “Glory & the Nations” Camp Meetings – London, Ont.

For the second year I attend a few days of the New Wine International Ministries Summer Camp Meetings hosted by Josh and Janet Mills. Again this year they were held in London at the New Life Centre. It was a thrill to see that there were many Inuit friends from Arctic Canada attending the full-week of meetings. Saints from Rankin Inlet, Arviat, Iqaluit, Puvirnituq, Kuujjuaq and many other communities in Nunavut and Nunavik were there and were blessed by the Holy Spirit. It was also good to see David Ellyatt and his wife Joan and their new granddaughter. David administers Arctic Mission Outreach – planting and assisting the building of churches in our Northern extremes.

A highlight was sharing time with Tagak Curley, MLA from Rankin Inlet North on the west coast of Hudson Bay. Tagak is a well known and respected Inuit Elder and “father” of modern Nunavut. He was recently elected, unopposed to the Nunavut Legislature and along with two other Christians bring God’s Word and power into the Nunavummiut government. Tagak was accompanied by his wife Sally and their son.

Another highlight was meeting Pastor David Collins from New Zealand who shared what was happening there in terms of revival and the movement of the Holy Spirit. He pastors the Franklin Elim New Harvest Church south of Auckland and presented Pastor James Arreak of Iqaluit with a New Zealand flag and invited him to come to New Zealand to minister to the Maori people.

Many powerful speakers including Pastor Karl Thomas, pastor of the New Life Centre, challenged us to make a difference in our Nations but first to make a difference for Christ in our own families – a great message for Christians today. The anointing was obvious.

Some afternoon workshops were held - for those interested in Intercessory Prayer as well as Flagging or Bannering. Dozens of us danced before Him with banners and flags streaming, all in praise of who He is.

Here are a few pictures from the two days.
