August 2003 – Alpha® Leadership Conference held at Agincourt
Pentecostal Church
On Friday, August 1st and Saturday August 2nd nearly 2000 attended the Canadian Alpha Leadership Conference held at Agincourt Pentecostal Church. The purpose of this conference amongst other things was to launch a Canada-wide initiative of Alpha to start next month. This initiative seeks to make Alpha courses available to thousands of Canadians with nation-wide information dinners. Local groups of churches throughout Canada have joined together as never before in order to offer these information evenings and dinners in mid-September.
Alpha courses are already running in many cities and communities across Canada. More information is available from the Alpha Canada website.
Pastor Nicky Gumble from Holy Trinity Church (HTB), Brompton, (London) UK and Sandy Millar the Vicar of Holy Trinity were the keynote speakers and teachers. Worship and Praise was led by David Clifton of HTB. The enthusiasm generated by this training conference will result in many new Alpha courses being offered. Part of the Friday evening session involved testimonies from nearly 30 people whose lives have been changed by their Alpha experience. What a thrill it was to share how Alpha has affected our Christian walk.

August 2003 – Joyce Meyer at Air Canada Centre
- WOW!
On August 28, 29 and 30
Joyce Meyer Ministries blessed Canada by hosting, for the first time, their
wonderful Bible Conference at the Air Canada
Centre in Toronto.
Thousands clamoured to attend this three day conference and were not
disappointed. Joyce’s teaching of the Word is world renown through her
television and radio ministry in dozens of countries around the world. She
teaches to over 2 billion people through her ministry.
The four powerful
sessions held at Air Canada Centre were focussed around our minds, our mouths,
our moods and our attitudes in our daily walk with Christ. Through preaching
and praise all who attended were taken into a deeper understanding of God’s
word as found in the Bible. Hundreds gave themselves and rededicated themselves
to Christ at the sessions. As well thousands were filled with the Holy Spirit -
a new and wonderful experience for many.
These Conferences
depend on local volunteers to be ushers, greeters and serve in other
capacities. Over 100 volunteered their services for the three days and were so
blessed by not only the teaching they received, but also by the privilege of
serving Joyce Meyer Ministries in this volunteer capacity. Marg and I were
blessed to have been able to serve for a second time. We encourage others to
call the Joyce Meyer Ministries office and volunteer their services – for the
next local conference or for one in another city. It is a wonderful way to
spend part of your holiday serving in this way!

that we are sure she will be back. Let’s all pray for that to happen!
