August 7, 2005: Second Summer ‘Christian Music in the Park’ – Milton
|
Sunday, August 7th marked second ‘Christian
Music in the Park’ sponsored by the Milton
Christian Churches Working Together group at Milton’s
Victoria Park. The day’s program included
several local worship teams and singers including the Praise teams from Southside Community Church, Grace Anglican Church and Burloak Christian Fellowship. As well, singer Carey Grant from Guelph, Nicollette
from Toronto and a local Gospel group called Country Gospel Singers
entertained us from 2pm to 6pm. The weather was perfect as was
the fellowship and music. People came with picnic lunches and snacks and
water were made available at a very reasonable cost. These events do have a
cost involved for such things as having toilets available and the use of the
park’s facilities. A basket was handed around and
prayed over that all costs would be covered. We encourage all local residents
and those from further a field to come and enjoy these summer music festivals
in Milton. The afternoon was another
wonderful example of what can be done in our community to bring Christians
together for praise and worship of our one Lord, Jesus Christ. For a report
on the first ‘Music in the Park’ event in June, please click

the MCCWT committee are to be
congratulated and thanked for organizing this day. Thanks also to the worship
teams that gave up their Sunday afternoon to bless Milton! Lorette has said
that there will be more ‘Christian Music in the Park’ events and even some
evening ones are planned. Here are some pictures of the afternoon. |
